Many national coaches first nominate an extended World Cup squad. This may include 30 to 35 players and must be nominated by Tuesday, May 15 at the latest. In previous tournaments, these preselections were always allowed to include only 30 players.

2018 Nomination: When will the final World Cup squad be announced?

On Monday, June 4, all nations must have submitted their final 23-man squad to FIFA. If a player is injured, another player can be nominated up to 24 hours before the team’s first group match.
